We are proud to announce the MI Human Action Weekend, the first major event being organized by the Michigan Mises Caucus this year, occurring on Oct 7-9 in Beaverton, MI, with visits to Mount Pleasant and Midland.

The event will start on Friday night and wrap up in the afternoon on Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, we will support one of our Mises Caucus candidates by knocking doors to get the word out. A strong showing with many people can make a huge difference for his campaign. We also want to show the value of the Mises Caucus local strategy. We have a wide variety of activity options for Friday night, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning and afternoon (please provide your input for specific event selection in the RSVP survey).

Those who can stay overnight can join at an AirBNB in the area. The house features many beds, a fire pit for a bonfire in the evening, and a grill and kitchen for preparing food. We encourage members to join for either or both nights. We will send the address once RSVP’d.

Please RSVP for the MI Human Action Weekend at the link below, and let us know what activities you are most interested in:

Updated Details for Activities

Friday night we will have everyone arriving, and we will gather in the area of the AirBNB.  There are a couple of bars nearby (The Hook, Beer and Brats, Beaverton Tavern).I think one of those will be the best spots for us to gather while people are getting into town.  The Hook is very close to the AirBNB but maybe not big enough for a group, so we will assess as we confirm RSVPs.

For Saturday, we will go to Mt Pleasant in the morning.  There are a variety of choices available for this time, with potential options including Mini Golf, Soaring Eagle Casino, tailgating at CMU Homecoming, and others.  After the activity, we will do door knocking and perhaps campaigning at some of the homecoming events.  After campaigning, we will return to the AirBNB for a cookout provided for all the attendees. To wrap up the night, we will have a bonfire at the AirBNB.

Lastly on Sunday, we will go to Midland for some additional activities.  There is a venue which offers axe throwing and an escape room, as well as many other options.

Donations welcomed!

While there is not a fee to attend the MI Human Action Weekend, we ask participants who can to make a donation to the Michigan Mises PAC to offset the costs for arranging the space to stay, and to allow us to organize more events like this, to support local candidates, and build single issue coalitions with other organizations.
